Terms of Reference (ToR) for Agribusiness Policy Consultant 

Officer Position Title: ToR Agribusiness Policy Consultant 

Location: Abuja 

Reporting To: Project Manager, SSPs, Nigerian Agribusiness Group (NABG)

Background: 

The Nigerian Agribusiness Group (NABG) is committed to driving sustainable agricultural development through policy initiatives. As part of our strategic  objectives, we aim to enhance our policy studies, research, and development initiatives while promoting agricultural policies to ensure food security and environmental sustainability. We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable individual to fill in as a short term Agribusiness Policy Consultant.

Purpose of the Position: 

To analyze and provide a comprehensive overview of Nigeria’s agribusiness sector, focusing on the developments, activities, and policies impacting key commodities (Maize, Soybeans, Fonio/Acha, Kenaf, and vegetables) from 2015 to 2023. The analysis will highlight successes, challenges, and gaps within these value chains, emphasizing the impact of climate change and the current agricultural commodities standards grading system. This study aims to identify opportunities and address gaps within the framework of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC) mandate.

Reporting:

The consultant will report to Maximus Ndianaefo, the SSPs Project Manager at the NABG, and submit all drafts and final documents via email, cc to the Director-General at NABG 

Duration: 

The consultant must complete the assignment within eight weeks from the commencement date for the Agribusiness Policy Brief and within four weeks for the Agricultural Commodities Policy Study on maize, soybeans, Fonio/Acha, Kenaf, and vegetables. 

Remuneration: 

A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered, commensurate with experience  and qualifications.

Media & Advocacy Consultant

The Nigerian Agribusiness Group (NABG) is seeking a Media & Advocacy Consultant to effectively communicate our ongoing policy initiatives to the general public, especially small-scale producers. The consultant will design and develop various communication products, including fact sheets, videos, and other IEC materials, and lead publicity campaigns to enhance awareness and promote NABG’s policies. Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop a comprehensive communication strategy.
  • Design and develop IEC materials such as fact sheets, videos, and infographics.
  • Lead policy awareness campaigns targeting small-scale producers and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to amplify communication efforts.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities.
