As part of preparations for the 2026 Presidential Agricultural Policy Dialogue, the Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG) has developed draft policy papers addressing two of Nigeria’s most pressing national challenges: Unemployment and Insecurity.
These draft papers explore how enhanced agribusiness development can serve as a sustainable, market-driven solution for job creation, rural economic inclusion, and improved national stability. The documents are intended to stimulate informed discussion, evidence-based debate, and constructive input from stakeholders across government, the private sector, development partners, academia, and civil society.
Purpose of the Draft Papers
The draft policy papers aim to:
-
Present practical, data-informed policy options linking agribusiness growth to employment generation and improved security outcomes
-
Highlight structural bottlenecks and opportunities within Nigeria’s agribusiness ecosystem
-
Support coherent policymaking through private sector–led insights and field-level realities
-
Serve as a foundation for stakeholder engagement during the 2026 Presidential Agricultural Policy Dialogue
Stakeholder Engagement
The documents published below are working drafts. Feedback, insights, and recommendations from stakeholders will be carefully reviewed and integrated following the Dialogue. The final outputs will be consolidated into NABG Presidential Policy Position Papers for submission to the Presidency.
